Tailgating tips so you can keep that tight end throughout the rest of the football season, and avoid a dietary fumble!
1. Kick the cans. Beverages are one of the easiest ways to rack up calories whether it’s from pop, sugared beverages or beer. Either limit your intake or don’t consume beverages with calories at all. Ways to do this include obviously drinking water, switching to diet soda or “light” beverages, or having iced tea with lemon.
2. Pass on the dips or extras like the pasta salad, ranch dressing, or 7 layer dip. If you indulge- stick to just 1 hamburger or 1 hot dog without the side dishes unless of course there are veggies around =)
3. Snap out of mindless eating Pay attention to what you are eating! Mindless eating often occurs when sitting in front of the TV or celebrating with friends! Learn to pace yourself and never leave a bag of potato chips open in front of you. Keep the food in the kitchen.

All you need is 1 head of Kale, a little salt, and an oven.
Start by pre-heating your oven to 275 degrees. Then pull the leaves from the stems and cut each leaf into about 2 inch pieces. Lay them on a baking sheet and cook for about 20 minutes, or until nice and crisp, but not brown. Then sprinkle with salt and serve with your favorite healthy dip!
Fake-out Cauliflower Dip
This recipe makes you think your eating bleu cheese dip…but it’s actually a healthy version without the bleu.
1 cup plain yogurt
½ cup mayonnaise made with olive oil
1 tsp. fennel seed
2 tsp. Greek seasoning
6 florets cauliflower
Salt and pepper to taste.
This recipe is simple! Just steam the florets for about 6 minutes in a pan with about an inch of water. Then remove them from the water and allow them to cool. Mix the remaining ingredients together and then roughly chop the cauliflower and add it to the dip. Serve this with your favorite fresh or chip form veggies.
